The settlement at Larkfield is recorded in the Domesday Book, but the village dramatically grew when the M20 was built during the 1970s. The land surrounding Larkfield also has a long and interesting history. The Carmelites founded the priory at nearby Aylesford in the 13th century. Today several of its medieval buildings are open to the public, including its cloister chapel.
One of Larkfield’s star attractions is Leybourne Lakes, a country park where you will find scenic cycling routes and a wildflower meadow, together with family-friendly amenities including a play area and wildlife walks.
